The short answer

Yes, you can let customers order from a QR code at the table and keep Loyverse. The setup this guide describes uses BkkBoost Dine for the ordering and the running of the restaurant floor, and keeps Loyverse as the place your menu lives and your sales end up.

In practice that looks like this. Customers scan a QR code at their table and order on their own phone. The order goes into Dine, which prints it at the right kitchen or bar printer. Staff serve, print the bill and record the payment in Dine. When the table is closed, Dine sends the finished bill to Loyverse.

The last step is the one people most often get wrong, so it is worth being clear from the start: orders are not sent into Loyverse while the customer is still eating. Loyverse receives the closed bill afterwards, and only when that bill can be recorded in Loyverse exactly. The rest of this guide explains how each part works and where the limits are.

What Loyverse does, and what Dine adds

Many restaurants in Thailand already run their menu, prices, stock and sales reports in Loyverse, and have no reason to move away from it.

This setup keeps all of that in Loyverse and adds the table side of the restaurant around it, in Dine:

Customer ordering — a QR code on each table opens your menu on the customer's own phone, in Thai or English, with photos and options. No app and no account. Customers can order again in later rounds, call staff and ask for the bill, where you have those switched on.

Staff ordering — staff take orders on Android phones or tablets for customers who would rather not scan, on the same system.

Kitchen and bar printing — each order prints automatically at the right station: food to the kitchen printer, drinks to the bar, by menu category.

The live floor — every table, what it ordered and its running total on one screen.

Bills and payment — print the bill with a PromptPay QR, check transfer slips automatically, and record cash, card or PromptPay.

None of this replaces Loyverse. It handles what happens between the customer sitting down and the bill being closed.

How an order moves through the restaurant

Here is the path one order takes, from the table to Loyverse.

1. The customer orders — they scan the QR code on table 6, choose a green curry and two iced coffees, add a note, and tap order. The QR code tells Dine which table it is.

2. Dine routes it — the curry belongs to a food category set to print in the kitchen, the coffees to a drinks category set to print at the bar. Two tickets print, each showing the table, the round and the time. If a printer is out of paper or offline, Dine retries the ticket and flags it for staff instead of dropping it.

3. Staff serve and the table orders more — a second round prints the same way, marked as round two.

4. The bill is printed and paid — staff print the bill from Dine, the customer pays, and the payment is recorded in Dine.

5. The table is closed — this is the moment Dine sends the closed bill to Loyverse, if it is a bill Loyverse can record exactly. More on which bills qualify below.

So during service, Dine is where the restaurant works. Loyverse sees the result once the table is finished, not each order as it happens.

How the Loyverse connection works

Connecting — the restaurant authorises the connection with Loyverse's own sign-in (OAuth) from the Dine admin on the web. You are granting access to your Loyverse store; there is no password to hand over. The BkkBoost team does this with you during setup.

Importing the menu — one import brings in your categories, items, sizes, modifier groups, taxes and discounts, so you do not rebuild the menu by hand. Item photos from Loyverse come across too, and a photo you upload in Dine takes priority over the Loyverse one.

Keeping items up to date — with auto-sync switched on, item edits and stock changes you make in Loyverse are applied in Dine as they happen. Change a price in Loyverse and the customer menu follows. Category changes are the exception: after renaming, adding or removing categories in Loyverse, you run the import again.

Stock on the customer menu — when Loyverse shows an item as out of stock or running low, customers see it as sold out or "only N left" and cannot order more than is available. Staff ordering is not blocked by the Loyverse stock figure, so a server can still put an item through if the kitchen knows it has more.

Who owns what — Loyverse stays in charge of item names, prices, categories, sizes, modifiers and the discount list. Dine is where you manage what the customer sees on top of that: Thai and English display names, descriptions, photos, the order of categories, and whether an item is available today.

What does not sync

These are the limits of the connection. They are worth knowing before you decide, not after.

Orders are not sent to Loyverse as they are placed — Loyverse does not see a table's orders during service. It receives the closed bill afterwards, where the bill qualifies.

Dine never changes your Loyverse menu — editing an item in Dine does not update Loyverse. The direction is one way: Loyverse to Dine for the menu, Dine to Loyverse for closed bills. It is not a two-way sync.

Category changes need a re-import — they are not picked up by auto-sync.

A re-import or a Loyverse edit can reset some Dine settings — an item's available or sold-out switch goes back to Loyverse's value, and Thai names you added to modifier options are lost. Items deleted in Loyverse are marked unavailable in Dine rather than deleted.

Dine keeps no inventory of its own — it shows the stock Loyverse reports, but orders taken in Dine do not reduce that figure themselves. Loyverse remains the place stock is managed.

BkkBoost is not an official Loyverse partner — Dine connects through Loyverse's API with your permission. It is not a Loyverse product or a Loyverse Marketplace app.

Which bills are sent to Loyverse

When a table is closed, Dine sends the bill to Loyverse automatically, as long as the bill can be recorded there exactly. If a send fails, Dine retries it, and a bill is never sent twice. The push can be switched off if a restaurant prefers.

Sent — a whole table paid in one go, and bills split by item, where every item, discount and payment method exists in Loyverse and the lines add up to the total.

Not sent — Dine refuses rather than sending a bill that would not match:

Service charge or VAT added on top of the menu prices.

A bill paid with more than one payment method.

An item, discount or payment method that does not exist in Loyverse.

Lines that do not add up to the total, which is typically the case with buffet charges.

Even splits and by-amount splits, pay-at-end buffet tables, and tables closed with nothing ordered.

Those bills stay in Dine's own sales records and reports. If your restaurant adds a service charge on top of prices, or most tables pay with more than one method, a large share of bills will not reach Loyverse. That is worth talking through before you start, because it decides how useful the Loyverse side is for you.

A worked example

Take a 14-table Thai restaurant near a busy office area that has used Loyverse for two years. The menu is in Loyverse, prices include VAT, and there is no service charge. Lunch is the problem: everyone arrives at once, two servers cannot take orders fast enough, and the kitchen gets handwritten slips while the drinks counter gets shouted orders.

With Dine, the menu is imported from Loyverse, Thai and English display names and photos are tidied up in Dine, and QR codes go on every table. Food prints in the kitchen and drinks at the counter. Servers spend lunch serving instead of writing orders, and still take orders on a phone for the regulars who prefer to ask.

At the end of each table, the bill is paid by PromptPay or cash, the table is closed in Dine, and the bill appears in Loyverse. Because prices include VAT and there is no service charge, most bills qualify. The owner still sees the day in Loyverse, and Dine's own daily summary shows the same service from the floor's side.

The same restaurant with a 10% service charge added on top would have a different experience: those bills would not be sent to Loyverse, and the owner would rely on Dine's reports for them.

Who this suits, and who does not need it

This setup fits well if:

You already run your menu and stock in Loyverse — and do not want to rebuild them somewhere else.

Taking orders is the bottleneck — at busy times, or because you have a lot of customers who would rather order in English.

You have a kitchen and a bar, or several stations — and want each order to print in the right place without anyone carrying it there.

Your bills are simple — prices include VAT, no service charge on top, and most tables pay with one method, so most bills can reach Loyverse.

It is not the right fit, or not necessary, if:

You are a counter-service café — if customers order and pay at the counter, Loyverse at the till may already be all you need.

You want every QR order to appear in Loyverse the moment it is placed — Dine does not work that way, so it is not the right tool if that is what you need.

Service charge on top or mixed payments are normal for you — the ordering and kitchen side still works, but many bills will not be sent to Loyverse.

You need a kitchen display screen, offline ordering or delivery-platform orders — Dine works from printed kitchen tickets, needs an internet connection during service, and does not take guest takeaway or delivery orders.

What setup involves

Setup is included in the monthly price, and the BkkBoost team does it with you. In order:

Connect Loyverse and import the menu, then add Thai and English display names, descriptions and photos where you want them.

Set up tables and print a QR code for each one.

Add your printers and decide which categories print where. Dine works with ESC/POS thermal printers over Wi-Fi, LAN or Bluetooth; we test your exact printer model during setup rather than promising that every model works.

Set up the Android phones or tablets your staff will use. Printing is done from an Android device, either a staff phone with the Dine app open or a dedicated Android phone left on charge as a Print Station, which keeps kitchen tickets printing even when no one has the app open. iPhones and iPads can view the admin but cannot print.

You will need restaurant Wi-Fi with a working internet connection during service.

Which BkkBoost Dine package includes Loyverse

The full Loyverse integration described above starts with Dine at ฿990 a month. That package is built for running restaurant service: QR and staff ordering, the cashier workflow and cash drawer, a Print Station, PromptPay with slip checks, bill and receipt printing, payment recording and the daily summary, plus the Loyverse closed-bill push, item updates and stock, for up to 4 staff devices. Customers' phones never count as staff devices.

Dine QR at ฿690 a month already includes QR ordering, the live floor, kitchen and bar printing, buffet, discounts and the Loyverse menu import. It does not send closed bills to Loyverse.

Dine POS at ฿1,690 a month is for restaurants that want BkkBoost as their complete POS: advanced split bills and split payments, advanced tax and invoice controls, receipt management, advanced reporting, and unlimited staff devices at one location. You do not need it to use Loyverse. Most restaurants that keep Loyverse as their POS will not.

The full lists are on the pricing page.

Questions owners ask

Does Loyverse have QR ordering? — This guide covers how BkkBoost Dine adds QR table ordering alongside Loyverse. For what Loyverse itself currently offers, check Loyverse's own website.

Can customers order by QR code while I keep Loyverse? — Yes. Customers order in Dine, Dine runs the orders and printing, and the closed bill goes to Loyverse where it qualifies.

Do orders appear in Loyverse immediately? — No. Loyverse receives the bill after the table is closed, not each order as it is placed.

Can BkkBoost import my Loyverse menu? — Yes: categories, items, sizes, modifiers, taxes and discounts in one import, with item and stock changes following automatically afterwards. Category changes need a re-import.

Does stock sync from Loyverse? — One way. Loyverse stock levels show on the customer menu as sold out or "only N left" and limit what customers can order. Orders in Dine do not reduce your Loyverse stock themselves.

Can BkkBoost send bills to Loyverse? — Yes, automatically when a table is closed, for bills Loyverse can record exactly. Bills with service charge or VAT added on top, more than one payment method, unmapped items, buffet totals, or even or by-amount splits are not sent.

Do I need Dine POS at ฿1,690 to use Loyverse? — No. The menu import works on every package, including Dine QR, and the closed-bill push is included from Dine at ฿990. Dine POS is for restaurants that want BkkBoost's advanced POS features.

Is BkkBoost an official Loyverse partner? — No. Dine connects to Loyverse through its API with your permission; it is not a Loyverse product.

Next step

If you are on Loyverse and want to see whether this fits your restaurant, the useful things to tell us are how many tables you have, whether you have a separate bar or other stations, which printers you use, and whether you add service charge or VAT on top of prices. That last one decides how many of your bills can go back to Loyverse.

See how BkkBoost Dine works, or message us on LINE at @bkkboost. If Loyverse on its own is already enough for your restaurant, we will say so. If you are planning a restaurant website as well, the restaurants and cafés page shows how the pieces fit together.
